Ok, so that's a little more extreme than it sounds, but they do make one big ass bonfire.
Whats better than chasing the winter away with a gigantic bonfire you ask? Why, getting drunk next to the gigantic bonfire and encouraging your 6-8 yr old children to play with and run around near the thing, that's what!
On a more... philosophical note: Making a huge bonfire in a really small town and inviting everyone too the thing makes you feel really small. It is as if we need something to cling to, something to make us feel not so all alone. For a moment, it makes you realize that we ARE, for all practical purposes, all alone in the galaxy. We need to cling to one other, or we have no reason to exist at all . . .
